Band Bio

Short Bio

HiddenCoves is an acoustic folk-pop duet known for their catchy melodies and reflective lyrics. Formed in 2022 by singer/songwriters Asha Merrington-Pink and Laurie Cox. Performing in established venues like The Barrel House (Devon), The Old Warehouse (Devon) and a weekly residency at The Cott Inn (Devon), plus opening for artists such as Natalie Holme and Good Habits, their captivating performances and evident passion have left audiences wanting more.

HiddenCoves write heartfelt songs about their experience of life and all the ups and downs. They come from a place of humanness and vulnerability. Motivated by the stunning beaches, moors and coves of their Southwest UK Home, they hope to inspire their listeners and build a connection to last a lifetime.

Having only just begun their musical journey, there is much to come. They released their debut EP, ‘Sailing’, in 2024, with every track featured on BBC Introducing. Since then, they have released a string of singles and plan to release one a month, with their single Secrets landing them a live set on BBC Introducing in the South West.

Full Bio

South West UK-based duo ‘HiddenCoves’ weave together elegant harmonies, reflective lyrics and stories that come from the heart. Pulling from an eclectic taste in music, HiddenCoves takes acoustic folk/pop and makes it their own. Audiences regularly praise the duo for their vocal harmonies, emotive songs and engaging performance.

The duet and couple got together in 2020, having known each other since primary school, within a year they discovered their passion for music and by the end of their degrees in 2025, they are getting the show on the road. They have had nearly all their tracks featured on BBC Introducing, with warm reviews from Daniel Pascoe, plus they have played live in Truro Studios for BBC South West. They are Semi-Finalists in the UK Songwriting Competition (finalists to be confirmed). They have opened for artists such as Natalie Holmes and Good Habits, and gig as regularly as time allows. They have 9 tracks released, the latest 3 being self-produced, including their most successful track, ‘What If’. With a plan to write and release a song every month, there is no stopping them.

They are songwriters at heart and are sitting on an ever-growing back catalogue of songs. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Passenger, Ed Patrick, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Paper Planes, Lizzy McAlpine, Hazlett, Ocie Elliot, Oh Wonder and many more. Their songwriting is somehow familiar, yet you’ve never heard anything like it before, an original take on their own lived experience with raw honesty and a wide-eyed sense of openness. The duo invite their listeners to feel and breathe as they do with deeply personal and intimate stories combined with a universal understanding that stands the test of time.

With much to come and many years ahead, they plan to release one single a month and keep honing their sound and performance. At such a young age, the potential for HiddenCoves is massive, so make sure you join them for the journey as they grow into the future.
